There are so many facets to being an operator these days. This class is designed to help assisted living/residential healthcare/home plus operators with the fundamentals needed to successfully operate an adult care home. Class provides overview of relationship between the functional capacity screen, negotiated service agreement, and health service plan. Regulations that impact day-to-day operations will be explored. The class will also identify ways to successfully prepare for the survey process. Participants will examine ways to work with families, improve workplace culture, provide resident-centered dementia care, and explore ways to expand services with today’s escalating acuity.
Course Instructor: Belinda Vierthaler, LMSW, LACHA has worked as an Administrator in skilled nursing and assisted living communities and served as the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman under the administrations of Governor Parkinson and Governor Brownback. She developed the Administrator-In-Training program and taught the assisted living operators’ course at Johnson County Community College. Currently, she is the Director of GERTI and Development, the education branch of Evergreen Living Innovations, Inc.
