Administrator-in-Training Position with Emerald Healthcare:
Emerald Healthcare is looking for leaders interested in joining our Administrator in Training program. This is a unique and intensive on-the-job training program designed for individuals seeking initial licensure as a Skilled Nursing Home Administrator and a career as a health care executive. Schedule: The AIT Program is a full-time, multi-month program
Compensation: The position comes with a base salary while in training. Once licensed and acting as a full-time Licensed Nursing Home Administrator include attractive compensation package including a competitive base salary and incentive structure will replace the AIT base salary.
Overview:
As AIT, you will receive practical on-the-job training in a nursing home or assisted living environment under the direct supervision of an experienced Administrator preceptor/mentor. The training program includes rotation through the various departments and duties in a skilled nursing facility; education on the interrelationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies (such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services); and a study of regulations and requirements associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility. Other topics of education for those in the AIT position include business/fiscal accounting management and principles of risk management and health care compliance.
What we are looking for:
MBA or MHA preferred, but other advanced degrees or a bachelor’s degree will be considered
AIT candidates must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in their state of intended residence
Prior business management experience preferred
Passion about serving and protecting the frail, sick and elderly
Professional and tactful demeanor allowing him/her to effectively deal with personnel, residents/patients, family members, visitors, physicians, government agencies/personnel, and the general public even under stressful or emotional circumstances
An inspirational leader and mentor who brings out the best in his/her managers and staff

Position Description:
Responsible for supporting and carrying out the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and total needs of the residents. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and The Company standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Director of Nursing, assumes the responsibility for clinical operations. The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure.
