Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas is a 5-Star not-for-profit continuing care retirement community which offers long term care, assisted living, and sub-acute rehabilitation. We are searching for a caring, dedicated and motivated Director of Nursing to join our team.

 

The Director of Nursing provides clinical nursing leadership and oversight for the long-term care, assisted living and sub-acute rehabilitation neighborhoods. The Director of Nursing plans, organizes, directs and facilitates the clinical operations of all neighborhoods to ensure regulatory compliance while nurturing a culture of person-centered and resident directed care. Additionally, the Director of Nursing promotes individual and team learning. The director of nursing is responsible for oversight of a 184 licensed skilled facility which consist of 38 beds of short stay rehabilitation, 120 beds of long term care and 26 bed Assisted living.

Volunteer Coordinator- Lakeview Village 


The primary purpose of this position is to enhance the quality of life and sense of community at Lakeview Village by providing assistance with the various areas of volunteer management, public/community events, and various communication tools and resources designed for the community.


GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Serve on Lakeview Village committees as assigned by your supervisor.

· Attend community conferences and educational seminars as approved by supervisor.

· Work as a team member with other Lakeview Village professionals to further the well-being of Lakeview Village and its residents.

  • Act as a continuous role model for the highest standards of respect toward and inclusion of residents in community life.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility.
  • * Assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly manner for resident comfort and convenience.
  • Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of equipment, supplies, etc. before leaving such areas.
  • Ensure that resident’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights are protected.
  • Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
  • Demonstrate and act as a role model for the Values of Lakeview Village.

High Plains Retirement Village and Assisted Living DON: 

Summary:  Mission-driven, servant leader responsible for planning, coordinating, organizing and directing the overall operations of the Long Term Care Nursing Departments (i.e. Restorative, Special Care, and Assisted Living). Ensure compliance with resident care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to geriatric residents. Will ensure quality resident care, competent and responsible personnel management and cost efficient utilization of resources through the development of a high performing, cohesive team. Foster trust through effective communication with residents, family members, visitors, physicians, and other hospital personnel.  Maintain performance improvement activities within the department and contribute to continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Assist in formulating the budget and maintaining efficient and effective departmental operations while required compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations, laws, standards, and protocols. Engage Long Term Care Nursing Departments in the KCH strategic plan, encouraging buy-in and participation from all team members.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

 

Selects, schedules, assigns, and evaluates staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary.

 

Orients new staff and assures that training and education needs of staff are met.

 

Coordinates unit or clinic activities and the work assignments of staff members.

 

Evaluates activities of unit or clinic to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.

 

Directs the nursing assessment of all patients.

 

Observes nursing care and visits patients to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment is administered in accordance with physician instructions.

 

Develops, implements, and evaluates unit or clinic policies, goals, and objectives.

 

Participates in the development and modifications of unit programs.

 

Markets services of unit or clinic.

 

Participates in infection control, discharge planning, utilization review, case management, and quality assessment activities and analysis.

 

Interprets and enforces department and institution policies.

 

Participates in the development and monitoring of unit budget.

 

Participates in appropriate department and hospital committees.

 

Directs preparation and maintenance of patients' clinical records.

 

Inspects rooms and wards for cleanliness and comfort.

 

Accompanies physician on rounds, and keeps informed of special orders concerning patients.

 

Orders or directs ordering of drugs, solutions, and equipment, and maintains records on narcotics.

 

Investigates and resolves complaints, or refers unusual problems to superior.

 

 

Qualifications:

Evergreen Community of Johnson County DON: 


The primary purpose of the Director of Nursing is to promote and restore individuals' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to residents, friends, and families; and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities of Evergreen Community of Johnson County (ECOJC). Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern ECOJC, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing. Nurture culture change by ensuring that the highest degree of quality care is maintained in harmony with person centered care.

§ Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern Long Term Care providers.

§ Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department consistent with a person-centered care philosophy.

§ Effectively plan and guide the implementation of the activities related to the nursing functions at ECOJO.

§ Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.

§ Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department by monitoring the facility’s QI, QM and survey reports to assist in developing plans of action to correct potential or identified problem areas.

§ Monitor infections, pressure sores, ulcers, weight loss, fails and other statistics in order to develop preventive measures and to set standards that ECOJC can adhere to.

§ Review and sign off on MDS reports ensuring accuracy and quality of information provided therein. 

§ Participate in Quality Assurance meetings, making recommendations and setting standards to rectify identified concerns.

§ Participate in all committees/meetings that have been scheduled to make decisions regarding type of care to be given individuals at ECOJC.

§ Provide performance reviews and coaching to subordinate staff to ensure quality services to the individuals at ECOJC.

§ Review complaints and grievances made or filed by department personnel.

§ Ensure that departmental disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap, or marital status.

§ Provide leadership training that includes the administrative and supervisory principles essential for Nurse Supervisors/Charge Nurses.

§ Attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession, as well as to maintain your license on a current status.

Salary range is $95,000-$105,000.
