Two primary objectives of nursing facility management are 1) to provide quality care to residents and 2) to monitor labor, retention and recruitment. To successfully manage these areas, it is critical for a nursing facility to understand the financial condition of their organization and their underlying financial information. A budget is a key component to the operations as a facility must control expenses to remain viable. Additionally, a facility’s expenses in one year generally impacts the future Medicaid rate. This session will provide an opportunity to gain financial knowledge of a facility’s operations and how a budget can be used to manage and control expenses.
